Managing Member

Alan Killen, P.E., is the Chief Executive Officer and Managing Member of Civil Southeast, LLC. He joined the firm in 2014 and spent more than a decade helping build its project portfolio and reputation before completing the acquisition of the company in 2025. Along the way he opened Civil Southeast's Daphne office in 2018, expanding the firm's presence along the Gulf Coast.

Since taking ownership, Alan has restructured the firm's design workflows for timelier delivery and stronger project tracking, streamlined its field inspection services, and optimized operations to hold revenue steady with a leaner, more efficient team — all while continuing to grow Civil Southeast's regional reach and client base.

Alan's technical background centers on transportation and drainage improvements, with extensive experience in planning, design, and project management. He is highly knowledgeable in state and federal funding programs and has delivered projects involving FHWA, ALDOT, ADEM, ADECA, BIA, EDA, and NRCS.

Alan holds degrees in Civil Engineering and Mathematics from Christian Brothers University and is a licensed Professional Engineer in Alabama. He lives in Daphne with his wife, Lindsay, and their two children.
